While I was growing up we had cats. Now mum is ok with cats but she's not enamoured of them (she's always thought monkeys were cute and used to talk about getting "a little lamb" to keep the grass down).
Mum was won over by one of our cats when she picked up her sole kitten and deposited it at Mum's feet before heading off for an outside adventure. Dad says it was Star's way of saying, "I can trust you with my little one because you're a mother too."
