Joel and I went to the gallery of modern art this afternoon. Most of our time was spent on the indigenous art floor. Joel particularly likes 'devil pictures' with intricate patterning - like this Alick Tipoti.
I know almost nothing about art. The very little I do know has come from music textbooks. Thinking I should find out something. Any suggestions where to start?
there's a good book called '1001 paintings you must see before yo die.'
ReplyDeleteYou coukld borrow it from the library. Just has a little paragraph about different paitings throughout history. I reckon just flick thru and stop at anything that catches your eye.
