'I want' songs

According to my friend, all good musicals need an 'I want' song.

Here's one from the Little Mermaid.

And one from Les Mis.

And one from Joseph.

Can you think of some more 'I want' songs? Give us a link so we can all enjoy them.

What's your favourite 'I want' song?

  2. I think you're slightly off on the Joseph song, Simone.

It's always struck me as a finer moment from Tim Rice where he understands a key piece of Biblical Theology and places it on the lips of Joseph.

So I'll trade you that one out for this classic.

Always helpful for humility to imagine our Lord walking up Golgotha singing, "what about me? it isn't fair..."

What a mess we'd be in had that been His song!

  3. I love Oliver. Maybe Food Glorious Food is more a literal want song, but the want song I really love is this one--

It kicks in around the 2:00min mark.

This is another good'n from Fiddler on The Roof--

  4. Really like the Les Mis soundtrack.

    I'm thinking of:

"America" from West Side Story ... (I like to be in America):
