liturgical dance anyone?

We're up to Acts 2 (Pentecost) in Sunday School tomorrow. Thought I'd look on the web for ideas on how to tell the story... instead of just getting on and writing it... (procrastination....)

Here's an interesting idea that I found:

Use Stravinski's Firebird Suite as background music. Encourage the children to interpret the story with their scarves as they listen to the story and music.

Hmm. Maybe not.

  1. The problem being the choice of music vs liturgical dance vs children playing with scarves (if they are wearing them)?

  2. would we ever ask kids to 'interpret' a story as if it's in a different language? And interpret it with scarves?

I know what my kids would be doing!

Not sure what Stravinsky's firebird would contribute...
