  1. Hi Simone, Thanks for your comments on blogging at the ministry wives thing. Thought it most appropriate I thanked you on your blog....Might consider creating my own blog again after your encouragement. I've wanted to but worried I'd spend too long and not get other things done. But maybe I'll give it a go soon.

By the way, do you know any Christian songs on the theme of Growing as a Christian? Can't think of any, at least not any written within the last 5 years that aren't children's songs, "I want to be a good soil" just won't cut it at a women's event! Any ideas?

  2. Did you get any curly questions, Simone? After your blog-pondering earlier in the week, I just wondered.

  3. None at all. The trickiest... How do I start my own blog?

  4. There you go, sometimes we think too deeply? Or maybe we should go there more often.

  5. Joc - I'll suggest From Strength to Strength by Ruth Buchanan, a reworking of Soldiers of Christ Arise. It doesn't say 'this is how you grow as a Christian', but does a great job of saying 'this is what it means to be a Christian, day in, day out'.

That might work for you, or not, but it gives Simone another chance to answer your question if she missed it over the weekend!

  7. Thanks Anthony - which Ruth Buchanan CD is it on? I only have one of hers and I'm not sure if it's on it or not. I'll try and get hold of it and have a listen.

Thanks for thinking Simone - I'm after two possibilites for songs about growing as a Christian - one that is suitable for congregational singing by a group of women and/or one for a solo preferably something that a jazz singer can sing, a hard ask I know but just wondered if you knew of anything? or if anyone else who reads your blog does?
