There were significant rewrites for the Chess Concert performance. I'm not convinced they were for the best. (Of course I'm not!)
The main issue I've got is the need to redeem the three main characters. They all had some turn around at the end and became nice(ish) people who were concerned for others. The beauty of the original was that they were all such a mess.
You and I was still beautiful. But not so good as this.
